Charlie Kirk, “is not cooperating” with the authorities nor has he confessed to the crime, stated this Sunday
Spencer Cox, the governor of Utah, where the crime occurred on Wednesday, in statements to the media.
“He has not confessed to the authorities, he is not cooperating, but everyone around him is cooperating,” Cox commented on ABC’s
‘This Week’ program about the crime of Kirk, an ally of President Donald Trump who died on Wednesday from a shot to the neck during an event at Utah Valley University.
In interviews on American Sunday programs, the governor, from the Republican party, confirmed a Fox News report that the person living with Robinson, arrested on Friday, is “a boyfriend who is transitioning from male to female”, which would mean that they are a trans woman.
But the state official nuanced that it has not yet been determined if this is relevant information in the case, in addition to indicating that this person is being “very cooperative” with the investigations and has been shocked by the crime.
“What we have specifically learned is that this person had no knowledge, was shocked when they found out,” Cox told NBC’s ‘Meet The Press’ program.

His statements come after it was revealed that authorities are seeking to charge Robinson with aggravated homicide, criminal discharge of a firearm, and obstruction of justice, according to a court document, while Cox and Trump have suggested that the death penalty should be applied.
The governor has maintained that Robinson had a “leftist ideology” despite the fact that he was not affiliated with any political party and his parents are Republicans.
For now,
Robinson is in the county jail where the university where the crime occurred is located on Wednesday during a Kirk event and authorities are expected to file formal charges against him within the next few days.

People close to the alleged killer have stated that he was an intelligent person and spent a lot of time playing video games, although “he had become more political in recent years” and at a family dinner before September 10th he had mentioned that Kirk would be in Utah.
Robinson is the oldest of three siblings and lived with his parents in Washington County in Utah, where his family was registered as Republican, but he had no formal political affiliation and had not voted in the last elections, according to data from this summer.
Trump, who will go to Kirk’s funeral on September 21, has blamed the attack on the “lunatics” of the “radical left”.
