A Texas family was left frightened after a doorbell camera captured a barefoot man wearing a mask of former U.S. President Joe Biden while eating a banana outside their home at night.

The unusual encounter occurred around 8 p.m. Sunday at a residence in Watauga, about 10 miles from Fort Worth, according to WFAA.

Footage from the family’s Nest doorbell camera shows the unidentified man approaching the front door while wearing the Biden mask. He then opens his jacket to reveal a T-shirt bearing the word “FREEDOM,” resembling one worn by conservative activist Charlie Kirk when he was assassinated at Utah Valley University in September 2025.

The man proceeds to peel a banana while nodding his head before leaning toward the camera for a close-up of his mask. He taps the camera twice, apparently attempting to ring the doorbell, takes a bite of the fruit and then walks away.

The family reported the incident to Watauga police and handed over the footage. Officers searched the surrounding neighborhood but were unable to locate the man.

Police Chief Jim Lewis told WFAA that investigators found no evidence that a criminal offense had occurred.

“Although the individual’s choice of attire and snack may have raised a few eyebrows, neither appears to have violated the law at this time,” Lewis said.

He added that authorities could not explain the man’s costume, the banana or what he described as an apparent political identity crisis, noting that unusual behavior is not, by itself, a criminal offense.

Other residents report similar sightings

The Watauga Police Department has also received information about social media posts from other residents reporting similar sightings of the masked man, according to WFAA.

Police said they had no additional footage available to release and encouraged residents to continue reporting suspicious activity, even when circumstances appear unusual.

The video has prompted confused and amused reactions online, with viewers questioning the stranger’s identity and the purpose of his unexpected nighttime visit.
