A dashboard camera captured the moment an explosion occurred at a shopping mall following the magnitude 6.8 earthquake that struck Kumamoto, Japan, as rescue operations continue at the partially collapsed building.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the explosion, which occurred after the earthquake and was recorded by a nearby vehicle. Emergency crews remain at the scene searching for people who may still be trapped inside the mall.
According to Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, the earthquake has killed more than a dozen people. Rescue efforts are ongoing as officials assess the damage and continue searching through the debris.
