Five men dressed as police officers forcibly removed a man from a vehicle and kidnapped him in broad daylight on Spain’s Mediterranean Highway, with the incident captured on video and later shared widely on social media.
The footage shows the group stopping the vehicle before pulling one of its occupants out by force and taking him away from the scene. The incident unfolded as other motorists continued traveling along the highway.
The Mossos d’Esquadra, Catalonia’s regional police force, later reported that the man had been found alive in the Vallès Occidental area of Barcelona.
Authorities have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping, identify those responsible and establish the motive behind the attack. No further details about the victim or the suspects have been released.
