The official Fortnite account responded to rumors that Jeffrey Epstein is alive and playing on its platform, following reports from users in the game who claimed to have encountered a player named ‘littlestjeff1’ in the Battle Royale. The developers clarified that the issue arose from a player who changed their nickname as a joke. “Hello, here Fortnite Official: this was a trick from a Fortnite player”, they wrote this Friday on their X account.

The user “had nothing to do with ‘littlestjeff1′”, they added. The issue arose because it was recently revealed in the latest documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice that this was the username Epstein used on YouTube. In that context, they said that Fortnite trackers only show the current name of the accounts, not the previous changes, and they highlighted that they have no record that the email addresses mentioned in the public document exist in the Epic Games account system. It was finally pointed out that, since the disclosure of said document, there have been multiple creations of Fortnite accounts with similar usernames and email addresses, which has further fueled speculation.
