Cairo.- Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister,
Mohamed bin Abdulrahmán, said on Sunday that his country will not cease its mediation efforts alongside Egypt and the United States to stop the war in the Gaza Strip despite the Israeli bombing in Doha this week, which targeted Hamas negotiators.
“The Israeli vandalistic and beastly practices will never discourage us from continuing the faithful efforts along with Egypt and the United States to stop this unjust war,” said Bin Abdulrahman in a closing speech of the Arab-Islamic preparatory meeting, held in Doha at the level of foreign ministers.
This meeting was held as a prelude to the emergency meeting that the leaders of the more than 50 countries that make up the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold tomorrow, Monday, to discuss the measures to be taken after the Israeli attack in Doha that caused six deaths.
That bombing was directed against the
main Hamas negotiators, whose office is located in Doha, while they were debating the latest US proposal to reach a truce in Gaza.
“Instead of expressing their appreciation for Qatar’s efforts and preserving the progress in the negotiations, Israel carried out the bombing against a residential headquarters where Hamas members were located,” recalled the Qatari Foreign Minister.
He also denounced that the bombing in Doha “confirms that it is an aggression against the principle of mediation itself and all diplomatic alternatives to war” and that it “thwarts the attempts at détente” made by the Arab country, a strategic ally of the United States.
“Confirms Israeli intentions to reject peaceful ways to resolve the Palestinian cause (…) something evidenced by the repeated statements of Israeli officials in reference to annexing the Palestinian territories,” he lamented.
In this regard, he held the international community responsible for “the silence, or rather, the incompetence” when it comes to holding Israel accountable, as well as “the lack of consequences for any crime it commits.”
Qatar urges to take «real measures»
Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohamed bin Abdulrahman, urged this Sunday for “real and tangible measures at different levels to prevent further excesses” by Israel, after this country attacked a building in Doha this week where negotiating leaders of the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas were located.
“Real and tangible measures must be taken at different levels to prevent further excesses because, if it is not stopped, (Israel) will have no limit and we will find ourselves facing a cycle of blood and sabotage,” said Bin Abdulrahman in a closing speech at the preparatory Arab-Islamic meeting of Foreign Ministers, held in Doha.

The bombing “means that Israel doesn’t understand red lines and continues to destabilize any country in the world,” denounced the Qatari prime minister, who recalled that the attack was “in broad daylight, in a residential area with homes, nurseries and diplomatic missions.”
