Kyiv.- Russia attacked a dozen Ukrainian regions last night with a total of 420 drones and 39 missiles, eleven of them ballistic, as reported on social media by the president Ukrainian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“There has been destruction in eight regions: many private houses and residential buildings have been damaged. At the moment we know of dozens of people injured as a result of this attack, including children”, wrote Zelensky in his message.

The Ukrainian president explained that gas infrastructure in the Poltava region and power stations in the Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions were also hit. “Most of the missiles launched (by Russia) today were able to be shot down thanks to our partners quickly sending a part of the air defenses that were agreed upon at the last ‘Ramstein’,” Zelensky said, referring to the meeting of the group of countries that send military aid to Ukraine, known as such by the name of the American military base in Germany where its representatives began meeting. Zelensky added that there were also impacts from unintercepted missiles and called for accelerating the supplies that Ukraine needs to protect its energy system and other infrastructure from Russian missiles. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, its air defenses managed to intercept 30 of the missiles, including four ballistic missiles, and 374 of the drones. Five ballistic missiles and 46 drones hit 32 unspecified locations, according to the Air Force, which also reported the fall of fragments of downed projectiles in fifteen other places in Ukraine. In addition to the infrastructure damage announced by Zelensky, the Ukrainian private energy company DTEK has reported that one of its electrical substations in the southern region was hit last night by the Russian attack.
