During his press conference in the Oval Office with Elon Musk, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, said that he would be open to pardoning the American rapper Sean Combs, known as P. Diddy, who is currently on trial for alleged sexual trafficking and other federal charges.
When asked about a possible pardon for the singer, the president responded: “Nobody has asked about it. But I know people are thinking about it.” He said he hasn’t spoken to Combs in a long time and that, although “he used to like me a lot”, he suspected the rapper had stopped being his friend after getting involved in politics. He added that the personal relationship would not influence an eventual decision to pardon him.
“I would analyze the facts. If I think someone was mistreated, whether I like them or not, would not affect it at all,” Trump concluded.
