ne person was killed and 10 others injured after a car bomb exploded at a police station in the city of Cúcuta, in Colombia’s Norte de Santander department, late Monday night.
The incident occurred shortly after 11:00 p.m. when an explosive device placed inside a vehicle parked in front of a Comando de Atención Inmediata (CAI) in the municipality of Los Patios, east of Cúcuta, was detonated.
The blast killed one person and injured 10 others, including two police officers. One of the officers reportedly suffered the loss of a lower limb.
The explosion’s shock wave damaged several nearby structures and motorcycles.
Colombia’s Attorney General’s Office sent investigators to the scene to begin gathering evidence and determine those responsible for the attack.

President Abelardo de la Espriella said he had convened a Security Council with the country’s top public security officials.
“We will not leave a single region of Colombia alone,” the president said, warning that the state would use its full force against those responsible.
“We will pursue with an iron fist those who attack Colombians until we capture them, dismantle their structures and restore peace to our communities,” he added. “Colombia does not kneel before terrorism.”
