SANTO DOMINGO, RD. – The Dominican Modern Pentathlon Federation (Fedopem) announced the holding of the Judges Course of the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM), at levels I, II and III, as part of the technical preparation for the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.

The training will take place from May 1st to 5th in the conference room of the Dominican Olympic Hostel, lasting five days and with a theoretical-practical approach.
The president of Fedopem, Kenny Núñez Veras, reported that the course will be taught by the Argentinian specialist Rafael Acosta, who will serve as the main facilitator.
Núñez Veras also highlighted the support of the International Modern Pentathlon Union, chaired by Rob Stull, an entity that waived 100% of the registration fee for participating judges.
“We have 29 officials who completed the online training phase, in addition to nine listeners who will join the process, for a total of 38 participants who will be linked to the 2026 Games,” explained the leader.
The head of Fedopem emphasized that the training day will allow both the updating of judges with expired licenses and the incorporation of new officials into the competitive system of modern pentathlon.
He also thanked the support of the Games organizing committee, headed by José P. Monegro, for providing the space, logistics, and resources necessary for the course.
With this initiative, Fedopem strengthens the preparation of the technical staff that will have a key role in the development of modern pentathlon during the 2026 regional event.
