NEW YORK.– The New York Yankees received worrying news this Tuesday after their captain, Aaron Judge, was left out of the lineup due to a bone bruise in the area of his ribs and right shoulder.

Manager Aaron Boone reported that the star outfielder underwent imaging tests after experiencing discomfort during the recent series against the Athletics in Sacramento, a situation that began to notably affect his swings.

“Fortunately it seems we avoided something more serious, but we will have a clearer idea after the medical evaluation,” Boone expressed before the start of the series against the Cleveland Guardians.
Judge, who had started every Yankees game in the 2026 season, will be evaluated day-to-day as the medical staff monitors the progress of the injury.
The manager explained that the slugger had been dealing with persistent pain in his right shoulder for several weeks, although the problem worsened during the last games played in California.

In the series against Oakland, Judge went 2-for-12 with four RBIs, although the coaching staff noted obvious limitations in several of his swings.
The 34-year-old slugger has been one of the main offensive figures in Major League Baseball in recent years, winning three American League Most Valuable Player awards in the 2022, 2024, and 2025 seasons.
In the current season, Judge is batting .248, with 17 home runs and 38 RBIs in 59 games.
The Yankees hope that rest and treatment will allow the power hitter to return to the field quickly without needing to go on the injured list.
