The offensive protagonist was Andy Pagés, who hit two home runs against Hunter Greene: the first in the third inning to open the scoring and the second in the fifth, with Michael Conforto on base. It was his second multi-home run game in the Major Leagues. Pagés finished the day 4-4 with two home runs, a run driven in by error and a sacrifice fly, adding decisive protagonism in five of the Angels’ seven runs. In the mound, young Emmet Sheehan signed the best opening of his career: seven scoreless innings, with 10 strikeouts and just three hits allowed. The right-hander reached a personal high of 19 missed swings and consolidated himself as a key piece in the rotation. The combination of power and pitching allowed the Dodgers to take advantage of the Padres’ loss to the Mariners to take a one-game lead in the division. “Today everything went as we planned: timely hitting, solid defense, and dominant pitching,” highlighted the Los Angeles manager after the victory. “Pagés continues to show that he can make a difference in big games, and Sheehan took a step forward in his development.”
