The big absentees and the playoff challenge

With the Yankees and Red Sox forced to compete for the wild card, and with the Orioles and Rays falling short, the Blue Jays broke the historical dominance of the traditional powers of the division. Now, figures like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette will seek their first postseason victory.
