BALTIMORE.– Dominican pitcher Cristopher Sánchez had an outstanding performance on the mound, striking out 11 batters in six scoreless innings, leading the Philadelphia Phillies to a 5-0 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.

Sánchez allowed just two hits during his outing, although he issued five walks, matching his career high. Despite this, he managed to get out of the highest-pressure moments and was the key piece for Philadelphia to snap a four-game losing streak.
The Dominican left-hander showed his dominance by striking out the three batters he faced in the third inning. In the fourth inning, he loaded the bases with walks, but struck out Dominican Leody Taveras to escape the danger without allowing any runs.
The situation repeated itself in the sixth inning, when he issued two walks and once again worked with the bases loaded. However, he forced Taveras to hit a ground ball to shortstop Trea Turner to complete another scoreless outing.
Sánchez’s performance also held historical significance for the franchise. He became just the second Phillies starter to record an outing of at least six innings, allow two hits or fewer, issue five or more walks, and strike out 10 or more batters, joining Tommy Greene’s no-hitter in 1991.
With this performance, the Dominican continues to solidify himself as one of the main arms in Philadelphia’s rotation, after entering the game with a 13-4 record and a 2.73 ERA on the season.
