Cuba secures its spot in the final and this Thursday the tournament champion will be decided

Santo Domingo Este.- In the first game of day 5 of the U15 Pre-World Baseball Tournament, the Cuban team once again achieved victory, this time, dealing a knockout to Puerto Rico 13 runs to 2.

In the second episode, the Cubans hit 10, managing to place the game eight runs to one. An episode that set the tone for the final outcome in five innings.

In the third episode, the Cubans “put the lid on the pot” with a triple by Angelo Fleitas with the bases loaded to extend the score to 12 runs to 1 and then, with a run-scoring single by Alexander Rodríguez, Fleitas scored, for Cuba’s number 13 run. The Cuban starting pitcher Carlos Sarduy was the most outstanding player after working four innings with six strikeouts, three walks and only two hits allowed. On the offensive for Cuba, the most outstanding were Angelo Fleitas with four RBIs, a triple, a run; while Miguel Chirino, the leadoff hitter, got three RBIs, a single, a run; Christopher García got two hits and three RBIs and Cristian Aguilera a double with two RBIs. With their victory, Cuba ties with Puerto Rico in second place with three wins and two losses, awaiting the result between the Dominican Republic and Aruba.

This result projects a final calendar day for the movie this Thursday, September 11th, when Cuba faces Aruba and Puerto Rico plays the Dominican Republic to define the champion of this Pan American championship, which seeks the king of the Caribbean in this category, and we will know who gets the classification for the U15 world tournament that will be held in 2026 in Italy.
This U15 Pre-World Baseball tournament is an official event of the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC), organized by the Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOM).

The Caribbean Baseball Confederation (COCABE) is the body responsible for defining the area’s representative in the U15 Baseball World Cup to be held in 206 in Italy.

COCABE is part of the Pan American Baseball Confederation, which already organized the first of three pre-world cups on the continent, and Venezuela is the team that first qualifies for the great world event.
