GUERRA, Santo Domingo Este .- Outfielder Emilio Bonifacio, infielder Axel Sánchez and left-handed pitcher José Hernández joined the Tigres de Licey’s training sessions this Tuesday at the International Prospect League facilities, located in the municipality of Guerra.

Bonifacio, 40 years old, comes from playing with three organizations in the Mexican Baseball League compiling a batting average of .270, with .396 OBP, 11 extra-base hits, 17 RBIs, and 13 stolen bases in 49 games. From their bond, Sánchez is a 22-year-old player who comes from playing in two circuits of the Seattle Mariners with whom he hit 13 extra-base hits in 47 games and 24 RBIs. While Hernández, 27, finished the summer of 2025 pitching for the Toros de Tijuana, with whom he set an ERA of 3.86, in a circuit whose collective earned run average was 5.82. Pitchers César Valdez, Paolo Espino, Radhamés Liz, Jorge López, Albert Abreu, Jairo Asencio, Ulises Joaquín, Dany Jiménez, Adonis Medina, Ovis Portes, Elison Joseph, Reidis Sena, catchers Maxwell Romero and Jommer Hernández, infielders Gustavo Núñez, Domingo Leyba, Michael De León, outfielders Luis Báez and Luis Barrera had already joined the blue camp. Also present were first and second year players Manolfi Jiménez, Yophery Rodríguez, Luis Beltrán, Yerald Nin, Elis Cuevas and Ángel Ortiz. The Licey’s manager was accompanied by a large group of coaches such as Héctor Borg, José Umbría, Anderson Hernández, Carlos Lugo, Manny Aybar, Fidel Peña and César Cabral. The 2025-26 Lidom season kicks off on October 15th, when the Tigres del Licey host the Leones del Escogido at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium, starting at 7:30 PM.
