The Dominican selection already looked loaded with talent after figures like Fernando Tatis Jr., Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and other Major League stars were confirmed at the beginning of this week. Now two important arms are added to the pitchers’ body: left-handed relievers Wandy Peralta and Gregory Soto, whose participation was announced by the Dominican Baseball Federation, ahead of the next Classic. Peralta and Soto were part of the Dominican roster in the 2023 edition, adding depth to the bullpen of the Dominican team, although the selection did not manage to advance beyond the group stage in that tournament. Peralta, who has had experience in high-pressure situations in Major League Baseball, brings control and veteran presence from the left side, while Soto adds power and ability to face key situations in the final innings. The Dominican Republic will begin its participation in Group D of the World Baseball Classic on March 6, when it faces Nicaragua at 7:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) at loanDepot park in Miami.Related News
