SAN FRANCISCO. – The Arizona Diamondbacks continue to go through one of their best moments of the season after defeating the San Francisco Giants 6-2 at Oracle Park, thus adding their tenth victory in the last 11 games.

Right-hander Merrill Kelly once again looked dominant from the mound as he conquered his fourth consecutive start, after working seven solid innings in which he allowed just two runs, four hits and gave up two walks.
On offense, Dominican Ketel Marte stayed hot with the bat, going 4-for-5 and driving in three runs. The second baseman also extended his hitting streak to nine games, a period in which he has an impressive .568 batting average.
Arizona came from behind after being down 2-1 and took advantage of defensive errors by San Francisco to manufacture a three-run rally in the fifth inning, a lead that proved to be definitive.
With the victory, the Diamondbacks improved their record to 4-0 against the Giants in the current season.
Meanwhile, in Arlington, the Houston Astros starred in a historic night by combining to throw the first no-hitter in Major League Baseball since September 2024, defeating the Texas Rangers 9-0 at Globe Life Field.
Japanese Tatsuya Imai was the main figure in the feat by pitching six innings without allowing any hits. Although he started the game by giving walks to the first two batters, he managed to recover quickly after a visit from pitching coach Josh Miller and completely dominated the Texan offense.
Steven Okert worked the seventh inning and Dominican Alimber Santa, in his Major League debut, retired the last two innings to seal the combined no-hitter, the 18th in Astros history.
Houston’s offense also responded. Dominican Jeremy Peña scored the first run of the game after being hit by a pitch and stealing second base, while Cuban Yordan Álvarez hit his 16th home run of the season.
Christian Walker continued his hot offensive streak by hitting a three-run homer in the seventh inning, his fourth home run in the last three games and the 15th of the year.
The combined no-hitter was the Astros’ first since the 2022 World Series and the first in the regular season since the one achieved by Dominican Ronel Blanco against Toronto on April 1, 2024.
