Alonso opened the scoring with a three-run homer in the fourth inning. Lindor broke the tie with his solo shot in the fifth, and Soto sealed the victory with a Beltré-style home run between right and center field in the eighth.
With their respective home runs, Alonso reached 12 for the season, Lindor 13, and Soto 10. In addition, Alonso’s hit places him in fourth place in Mets history for RBIs (632), surpassing Howard Johnson.
“We are going to ignite, and it’s going to be exciting when that happens,” Alonso assured.

Lindor continues to be key at home, with 11 of his 13 home runs at Citi Field this season, where he bats .355 and has an OPS of 1.064. With his home run on Sunday, he reached fourth place all-time among shortstops with 261, surpassing Derek Jeter.
Soto, for his part, connected a home run for the second consecutive game, with a powerful hit of 110 mph, adding another display of his offensive impact.On the mound, Clay Holmes dominated with seven solid innings, guiding the Mets to close out their home stand with a 7-2 record and an overall record of 37-22.
“This isn’t just about the three of us,” Soto stated. “It’s about the whole team.”
