Atlanta, United States.– Juan Soto hit a two-run RBI single and was one of the key figures in the New York Mets’ 10-9 victory over the Atlanta Braves this Sunday, in a game marked by a rain delay and a dramatic finish in the ninth inning.

The Dominican player produced two runs with a base hit in the second inning, when the Mets manufactured a four-run rally to take control of the game. A.J. Ewing contributed a home run, Francisco Lindor drove in another run with a single, and Tyrone Taylor also sent the ball out of the park.
Bo Bichette had an outstanding offensive performance by hitting three hits, including a bases-loaded double in the ninth inning that drove in two runs, to finish the day with three RBIs.
New York had a comfortable 10-3 lead after scoring five times in the top of the ninth inning. However, the Braves rallied with a six-run attack, including a grand slam by Drake Baldwin off Dominican pitcher Huáscar Brazobán, putting the visitors’ victory in jeopardy.
Closer Devin Williams managed to contain the threat and secured his 13th save of the season by striking out Dominic Smith with runners in scoring position.
The victory allowed the Mets to end a losing streak, after having lost 12 of their previous 14 games, including the first two matches of the series against Atlanta.

For the Braves, Venezuelan Martín Pérez took the loss. The left-hander left the game after being hit in the left forearm by a line drive hit by Juan Soto to start the fifth inning. The team did not provide an immediate update on his health status.
The match was delayed by one hour and 47 minutes due to rain before the first pitch.
