The imported right-hander Paolo Espino (0-0) will be in charge of opening the first game of Friday’s doubleheader, when the Tigres visit the Toros del Este at the Francisco Micheli stadium in La Romana, starting at 4:00 PM. This will be his third appearance of the season, after working seven innings with seven strikeouts in his first two starts. For the second game of the double-header, scheduled for 7:30 p.m., the left-handed reinforcement Nico Tellache (0-0, 2.92) will take the mound. In four appearances, three of them as a starter, Tellache has limited the opposition to a .205 average, with a WHIP of 0.97, showing dominance and consistency since his arrival.

On Saturday, in a game to be played at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal stadium starting at 7:00 p.m., right-hander Cameron Gann (0-0, 3.18) will be responsible for starting against the Estrellas Orientales. Gann will make his fourth start of the tournament, in which the hitters barely hit him for .200 in five appearances.

To close the week, on Sunday, when the blue team visits the Estrellas again at the Tetelo Vargas stadium in San Pedro de Macorís (5:00 p.m.), veteran César Valdez (1-0) will take the mound. Valdez is coming off a solid performance last Tuesday against the Gigantes del Cibao, where he pitched six innings with three hits and one strikeout, achieving his 28th career victory in Dominican winter baseball.
