Walker doubled in the eighth inning to maintain his offensive consistency, while Nathan Church had an outstanding performance with three hits and Alec Burleson drove in two key runs in St. Louis’s victory. In the mound, Dustin May (2-2) worked six solid innings in which he allowed one run, six hits and struck out four batters, leading his team to their second consecutive victory. Reliever Riley O’Brien took care of the ninth inning without setbacks to secure his fifth save of the season. The game was decided in the sixth inning, when a sacrifice fly by JJ Wetherholt and a two-run single by Burleson broke the tie and gave the home team the definitive lead. By Cleveland, Dominican José Ramírez reached a historic milestone by consuming his 6,040th at-bat in the Major Leagues, setting a new franchise record and surpassing a mark in place for more than a century. Despite the individual achievement, the Guardians couldn’t avoid their second consecutive loss of the season, in a game where starting pitcher Slade Cecconi struggled with control, issuing five walks in four innings of work. With the triumph, San Luis continues to show positive signs in its offense, led by a Walker in great form, while Cleveland seeks to regain its rhythm after a solid start to the campaign.#Most read
