Aldama sets a personal record with 37 points, but Grizzlies squander lead and fall to Wizards

WASHINGTON.– Spanish Santi Aldama signed the best offensive performance of his NBA career by scoring 37 points, but his brilliant night was not enough to prevent the defeat of the Memphis Grizzlies, who squandered a lead of 20 points and fell 130-122 against the Washington Wizards, the team with the worst record in the league.

Frenchman Alex Sarr contributed 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Marvin Bagley III added 16 points, with Bub Carrington adding 14. By Memphis, in addition to Aldama’s record, Jaren Jackson Jr. finished with 22 points and eight rebounds, and Cam Spencer stood out with 19 points and 11 assists, in a defeat that left a bitter taste after a game that seemed on track.
