Chicago, USA – Dominican Karl-Anthony Towns had a dominant performance this Sunday at the United Center, scoring 28 points and leading the New York Knicks to a 105-99 victory against the Chicago Bulls, who are going through a losing streak of nine consecutive defeats.

Towns showed offensive efficiency by converting 10 of his 17 field goals, including five three-pointers. In addition, he completed his performance with 11 rebounds, two assists and three steals in just over 32 minutes on the court.
The triumph came just hours after New York staged an 18-point comeback against the Houston Rockets, in a match in which Towns also shone with 25 units. The center has now scored five consecutive games exceeding the 20-point barrier.
Collective Support and Struggle in the East
The Knicks also had 19 points, nine assists and five rebounds from Jalen Brunson, as well as 16 points from Landry Shamet.
With three wins in their last four games, New York consolidated the third position in the Eastern Conference with a record of 37-21, placing themselves only one game behind the Boston Celtics at the top of the Atlantic Division.
For its part, Chicago continues in crisis. The team led by Billy Donovan has a record of 24-34 and remains outside the ‘playoffs’ positions, after a recent restructuring of the squad that included the departures of Nikola Vucevic and Ayo Dosunmu.
Against the Knicks, the Bulls were without Anfernee Simons and Jaden Ivey and recorded a 39% field goal percentage. Matas Buzelis was the team’s top scorer with 15 points, while Guerschon Yabusele contributed a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds.
With Towns’ boost, the Knicks firmly maintain their candidacy in the tight battle for the top spots in the East.
