The activity will be this Tuesday, at 10:30 in the morning, in the Juan Ulises García Saleta Hall of the COD, and the initiative is carried out as part of the organization’s commitment to the preservation of historical memory and the promotion of the legacy of Olympism. The event, organized by the COD, will bring together national sports authorities, representatives of the Olympic movement, and personalities from the institutional sphere. This new gallery seeks to pay homage to the figures who have been fundamental pillars in the development of Olympic sport in the Dominican Republic and on the international stage. The space will recreate the photographs of the presidents and secretaries of the IOC, as well as the IOC, with the aim of offering a look at the trajectory of those who have led the Olympic movement since its inception. “It is a well-deserved recognition for men and women who, with their leadership, have contributed to the strengthening of sport in our country and have represented Olympic values with integrity and vision,” notes a statement from the COD. The initiative is part of the COD’s efforts to keep the history of Dominican Olympism alive and to foster a culture of respect, memory, and pride towards the men who have served the institution.
