Gabriel Langton has been released from the hospital after suffering a frightening fall during the men’s team gymnastics final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The 18-year-old was taken from the arena on a stretcher after missing his grip during a high bar routine and landing on his head and neck. He underwent multiple medical scans, and Team England later confirmed that the results were positive and that he had been cleared of any serious injuries.
“Gabriel was transferred to hospital as a precautionary measure and underwent multiple scans today, with very positive results,” Team England said in a statement. The team added that the gymnast is in good spirits, grateful for the support he has received, and looking forward to reuniting with his teammates.
Langton had recently replaced multiple Olympic medalist Max Whitlock, who withdrew from the Games because of an injury. Although he missed the medal ceremony, England secured the silver medal in the men’s team event, ending a streak of titles that dated back to the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
