LA ROMANA, DR.- The Dominican Triathlon Federation (Fedotri) announced the celebration of the Santa Rosa de Lima National Duathlon Championship, an event that will take place in La Romana as part of the city’s traditional patron saint festivities and its sports activity program.

The competition will take place on Sunday the 30th, in the surroundings of La Romana Central Park, starting at 7:00 in the morning, and will be contested in the sprint format, with a course of 5 kilometers of running, 20 kilometers of cycling, and 2.5 kilometers of running.
The information was provided by Aristóteles Newman, treasurer of Fedotri, who represented the entity’s president, Franklin De la Cruz. He was accompanied by Juan Francisco Pérez, a member of the technical staff; as well as sports leaders Lener Mercedes and Aristilda Mercedes, president and secretary general of the La Romana Triathlon Association (Asotriro), respectively.

Newman highlighted the enthusiasm that exists in La Romana on the occasion of the celebration of the championship and the various activities that are part of the patron saint festivities dedicated to Saint Rose of Lima.
The event is organized by Fedotri, Asotriro, and the Mayor’s Office of La Romana, and will feature the participation of athletes belonging to different associations from the country and of various ages.
The Fedotri treasurer thanked the support of the La Romana City Hall and Mayor Eduardo Kery Metivier, as well as the companies, institutions, and personalities who have decided to support the realization of the championship.
