The competition will bring together 20 teams and more than 200 players from different sectors of Greater Santo Domingo, who will compete for several weeks in search of conquering the crown of the tenth edition of the main organized tournament of this discipline in the country.

The competition will feature a five-week regular season and a four-date postseason phase, in addition to the celebration of the traditional All-Star Game, an activity that will bring together the most outstanding players of the season for a day of exhibition and sports fellowship.

Youth category and night games introduced

As part of this year’s innovations, LIDOVI will incorporate for the first time a youth category for players between 11 and 14 years of age.

Eight teams and nearly a hundred young people will participate in this modality, thus strengthening the institution’s commitment to the development and sports training of the new generations.

Likewise, the tournament will include night sessions within its official calendar, an initiative that seeks to expand the reach and appeal of the competition for players and fans.

Organizing committee

The information was provided by Carlos Emilton Jiménez, president of LIDOVI, who highlighted the enthusiasm among leaders, players, and teams ahead of the start of the championship.

“We are filled with satisfaction to reach our tenth championship, consolidating a sports project that continues to grow year after year. There is great enthusiasm among all the participants and we are working to offer a memorable season for the entire Vitillera family,” expressed Jiménez.

The Organizing Committee of the X Vitilla Championship is composed of Ghensy de Jesús, president; Joel Rodríguez, secretary; Plácido Amador, treasurer; Carlos Emilton Jiménez, press officer; and Francisco M. Pérez, member.
