Sports writing (EFE).- A mural by artist Paul Curtis on the side of a house near Anfield stadium pays tribute to former Liverpool striker Diogo Jota, who died in a car accident in Spain along with his brother André Silva on July 3rd.
It is the second mural of similar characteristics that pays tribute to the Portuguese attacker after the one that another artist, John Culshaw, finished five days ago on the side of the ‘pub’ Halfway House, also in Liverpool.
Curtis launched an online fundraising campaign with which he captured donations that came not only from ‘reds’ fans.
“Obviously, many Liverpool supporters have donated, but so have those from Everton and Manchester United, which shows the boy’s reach and how respected he is,” he told the BBC.
Money also arrived from Japan and the United States, which “gives an idea of what Jota was like”, a person who “moved people beyond football”, added Curtis.
