Bills, Ravens, Vikings and Raiders fill Week One of the NFL season with records

The Bills are only the fourth team since 2000 to overcome that many points in the last four minutes, their feat left that relationship of matches at four victories for the teams that were behind against the 2,312 wins of the teams that kept the lead. Records in NFL Week 1
Despite losing, the Ravens also set records. They became the first team in NFL history to score at least 40 points, rush for 235 yards and still lose. For John Harbaugh, coach of Baltimore, it was the eighth time his team lost a game in which they had a lead of at least eight points in the final period. No other ‘coach’ since the year 2000 has accumulated so many losses in the NFL. Derrick Henry, Ravens running back, who finished the game with 169 rushing yards and two touchdowns, tied the record of the legendary Jim Brown in reaching 13 games with at least 150 rushing yards. The previous Monday, the comeback tone was maintained thanks to the one forged by the Minnesota Vikings, who entered the last quarter down 17-6, but led by Jonathan James McCarthy and his three touchdowns, ended up winning 24-27 against the Chicago Bears. McCarthy Shined in His Debut
McCarthy, who played with the Vikings, became the first quarterback in NFL history to score three touchdowns in the final quarter of his debut game. His brilliant performance with multiple annotations, matched that of Vikings legend Fran Tarkenton, a Hall of Famer, in his debut back in 1961, with four ‘touchdowns’ throughout the 37-13 victory over the Bears. On Sunday, the Las Vegas Raiders also took their piece of history in their 13-20 triumph over the New England Patriots, in which they were led by Pete Carroll, their new coach who became the longest-tenured ‘coach’ to lead an NFL game at 73 years old; he will turn 74 on September 15th. In New York, Aaron Rodgers had his revenge, after being fired by the Jets at the end of last season’s campaign, a team he defeated in an exciting comeback 32-34 leading his new franchise, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rodgers, 41, connected four touchdown passes in his presentation with the Steelers, the most touchdowns in a game for the franchise since the historic Ben Roethlisberger did it in the 2020 season.
