Cristiano Ronaldo fulfills the dream of a Venezuelan child affected by the earthquakes

SPORTS EDITORIAL.– Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo sent an emotional message of support to Andrés Mieles, a Venezuelan boy who was seriously injured during the earthquakes that occurred on June 24, and invited him to attend one of his matches once he completes his recovery.
Through a video shared on social media, the captain of the Portugal national team expressed his affection for the young boy, whose story moved thousands of people.
“Hello, Andrés. How are you? I’m making this video to send you a hug. I know you’re a huge fan. When you get better, I want to invite you to watch one of my matches to enjoy it. I would love to meet you. A hug, my friend,” stated the Portuguese star.
Andrés’ story went viral after he was rescued from the rubble and revealed that one of his greatest wishes was to get the Cristiano Ronaldo sticker from the official FIFA World Cup album.
The message was delivered personally to the child by Venezuelan content creator Armando Poyo, who promoted a social media campaign to raise awareness of his case. In another video shared later, the minor is seen smiling while holding the long-awaited sticker of the Portuguese footballer in the hospital room where he remains admitted.
Andrés suffered serious injuries during the earthquakes and lost several members of his family. As a result of the injuries, doctors had to amputate one of his legs. His story has generated a wide wave of solidarity both in Venezuela and in other countries.
According to the most recent official report, the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes left 2,645 people dead and 12,666 injured.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo remains focused with the Portugal national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Portuguese side recently advanced to the round of 16 and keeps its aspirations of winning the title alive.
