Katharina Hobgarski wins W35 Punta Cana Tournament

Punta Cana.- The German Katharina Hobgarski was crowned champion of the Tournament W35 Punta Cana, with sets of 6-3, 5-7 and 6-4, in a match lasting 3 hours and 12 minutes.
Hobgarski, second seed of the tournament, surprised the favorite, the Argentinian Luisina Giovannini in three sets.
In doubles, the second-best pair, the Polish Weronika Falkowska and the German Katharina Hobgarski, were crowned champions after defeating the tournament favorites, the Italian Anastasia Abbagnato and Stephanie Judith Visscher, from the Netherlands, with a score of 6-2 7-5.

This Monday another W35 tournament starts, in the same setting and with the same characteristics as the one that ended this Sunday.  

The tournament distributes 30 thousand dollars. The director is Sergio Sabadello, with Jimi Cardona as referee, assisted by Francisco de los Santos. The event awards 35 points to the champion, 23 to the finalist, 14 to the semi-finalist, 8 points to the quarter-finalists, and 4 to the round of 16.
