La Romana.– With broad international participation and youthful enthusiasm, the seventh edition of the Romana International Volleyball Open 2025 (Rivo) began, a tournament that consolidates La Romana as the epicenter of formative volleyball in the Caribbean.
Organized by the Volleyball Association of La Romana (Asovolaro), the event brings together 37 teams from Puerto Rico, Colombia, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, representing 12 clubs that will compete in different age categories: 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, and 18-20 years old.
“Nos sentimos muy contentos con la puesta en marcha del Romana Internacional Voleibol Open, que es un torneo de clubes. Este año tenemos la visita por primera vez del club Prodigioso de Sabana Grande (Puerto Rico); Becerras de Baja California (México); el Thunder Voleibol Club (Colombia)”,
destacó Amós Anglada, principal organizador del evento.
The competition, which will run until next Thursday, is taking place on the courts of the Max Simón volleyball pavilion, the Virgilio Castillo (Chola) and the Eleoncio Mercedes sports complex.
The Rivo 2025 represents a key platform for the development of volleyball in the region, fostering sports and cultural exchange among young athletes from different nations.

The Romana International Volleyball Open (RIVO) is a high-prestige open tournament that promotes high-level competition among volleyball clubs, both from the Dominican Republic and the world. This event brings together teams in various categories, promoting a dynamic and vibrant sporting environment.
It will be held from June 23 to 27, 2025.
