Santo Domingo. Colombia snatched the gold medal from Mexico in the men’s 400-meter freestyle in sprint swimming at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games, Santo Domingo 2026.

Colombian Juan Manuel Morales stopped the clock at 3 minutes, 51 seconds, 96 hundredths (3:51.96), relegating the Mexican Paulo Strehlke (3:52.60) to the silver medal, who had previously won the gold medal in the 800-meter freestyle.
Venezuela, with Adanuriel Rosal, took the bronze medal with a time of 3:54.11, finishing ahead of the Colombian Sebastián Camacho (3:55.65), who placed fourth.
The Dominican José Arias Mauricio had to settle for seventh place with a time of 4:04.08. Before him, the Mexican David Medina (fifth with 3:56.65) and Albert Vega, from Costa Rica (sixth with 4:02.97), reached the finish line.
