Generals Claudio González Moquete and Jacobo Mateo Moquete toured the routes of both competitions and announced that the activity will be attended by Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, Director General of the National Police. General Mateo Moquete highlighted that public and private authorities of the province have expressed their support for the initiative, valuing that this type of activity fosters closeness between the institution of order and the citizenry. In the meeting, renowned sports leaders participated, such as Juana Félix, Vidalin Cuevas (Chichí), Michael Otaño, Víctor Suero, José Valenzuela, José Gómez and the superior basketball player Michael Borbón, who directs an academy for children and adolescents. The leaders represent clubs and leagues of basketball, volleyball, and baseball in sectors such as La Playa, Villa Estela, Pueblo Nuevo, Enriquillo, Baitoa, La Caobita, Villa Central, Palmarito, and Villa Olímpica, among others. “I want to highlight the enthusiasm of these sports leaders who immediately confirmed their integration into the organization of Barahona Corre,” said Mateo Moquete. BARAHONA. – The Regional South and Sports directors of the National Police held a meeting with sports leaders from different neighborhoods on the Malecon of this city, where they offered details about the 5K and 10K “Barahona Runs” races, to be held on Sunday, October 12.
