Writing.-The Federation of Otorhinolaryngology Societies, through a decree, established the celebration of World Voice Day, every April 16, considered as one of the fundamental tools of daily living.
The goal of this day is to raise awareness among people about the importance of the voice, as well as to teach how to take care of it to avoid ailments related to the vocal cords, such as aphonia and dysphonia.
According to the website diainternacional.com, the organizers of this event indicated that the motto for this year’s celebration is “resonate, educate, celebrate!”.
Experts say that if the voice is not properly cared for over time, ailments may arise, such as: aphonia, dysphonia.
Aphonia is a disorder that causes loss of voice, which can appear both rapidly and slowly.
The topdoctors magazine indicates that hoarseness is caused by respiratory diseases: pharyngitis, laryngitis, cough, tonsillitis, nodules, allergies, tumors.
As well as forcing the voice, using toxic or irritating products, such as alcohol, tobacco, vinegar, and pepper.
Excessive cold is another cause that can lead to hoarseness.
The magazine indicates that to prevent hoarseness you only have to avoid smoking, limit alcohol consumption, limit exposure to gases and toxins, as well as avoid talking a lot, whispering, and speaking loudly.
