Punta Cana. – Within the framework of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE) 2026 tourism fair, the Hotel Santiago Curio Collection by Hilton presented its proposal to position Santiago and the Cibao region as an international tourist destination, betting on the diversification of the Dominican offer.
Before tour operators from more than 20 issuing markets, coming from the United States, Canada, Europe and Latin America, the hotel chain articulated a proposal based on cultural, business, health and gastronomy tourism, aligned with the country’s goal of exceeding 12 million visitors in 2026.The hotel’s participation in DATE 2026 responds to a strategic vision that seeks to integrate the Cibao region into the national tourism architecture, projecting it as a destination capable of attracting higher value-added segments and expanding the offer beyond the traditional poles.
In that sense, in line with the call made by the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic, Hotel Santiago highlighted the city’s potential to consolidate itself as a hub for business tourism, health, events, and culture in the Northern region, thanks to its infrastructure, connectivity, and offer of experiences. “During DATE 2026 we validated the growing interest of issuing markets for a different Dominican destination, defined by vibrant cities, living heritage, and authentic experiences. The executive explained that the proposal of the Curio Collection by Hilton is based on a strategic location in the heart of Santiago and its connection with Ágora Santiago Center, integrating services, entertainment, gastronomy, and a high-value commercial offer. Likewise, he highlighted spaces such as the Zazón restaurant, the Arturo Fuente Cigar Lounge, and the Las Hamacas Terrace, which are part of an experience platform designed to attract international visitors. As a result of their participation in DATE 2026, the hotel reported progress in new business alliances and greater positioning with international buyers, sending a clear message to the market: Santiago and Cibao are ready to take a leading role in the country’s tourism development. During the event, the contribution of the Hotel Santiago to formal employment in the North region was also recognized, with emphasis on the integration of local talent and female participation, within a sector that exceeds 800,000 jobs, according to data from Asonahores.
