Santo Domingo. In the framework of the Santo Domingo International Book Fair 2025 (FILSD 2025), the Multiplicando Letras program achieved an outstanding participation with its first group of 32 attendees, coming from 22 provinces of the country.
The initiative, coordinated by Beyanira Paredes and Vladimir Tatis Pérez, is consolidating as a key platform to democratize access to culture and promote literary development in inland communities.
During the first days of the fair, the Multiplicando Letras program offered a diverse agenda that included colloquiums, workshops, talks, presentations, book signings, recitals, and conferences, with an average of 20 daily activities and a total of 75 events held. Participation in them was balanced in terms of gender, reflecting a firm commitment to inclusion and representativeness.
From October 1st, a second group of 34 participants will be incorporated, who will also have the opportunity to live this formative and cultural experience under a rights-based approach, promoting the principle that all people should have access to culture and enjoy its goods.
Beyond its impact during the fair, the program offers continuity to the participating communities, allowing workshop leaders to apply new strategies for promoting reading and cultural management in their localities.
Through dialogues, discussions, and workshops with nationally and internationally renowned writers and content producers, fertile spaces are generated for the exchange of ideas, the strengthening of networks, and the construction of an inclusive and transformative literary culture.
Multiplying Letters represents a democratic expression of Dominican literary and cultural work, where established and emerging authors converge to share experiences, open paths, and sow the value of reading in every corner of the country.
