Trump says he plans to ban the term “artificial intelligence” in favor of “superintelligence”

U.S. President Donald Trump has said he plans to prohibit the use of the term “artificial intelligence” in official documents and other contexts, arguing that the phrase is inaccurate and should be replaced with “superintelligence.”
“When will The Wall Street Journal start referring to ‘Artificial Intelligence’ (AI) — a very inappropriate and inaccurate term — as ‘Superintelligence’ (SI), which virtually everyone else is already using or will soon be using?” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
“Soon, we will officially prohibit the term ‘AI/Artificial Intelligence’ in all relevant documents and elsewhere, given its inaccuracy,” the president added.
Trump did not provide further details about how the proposed prohibition would be implemented or which documents and institutions would be affected.
