1,200 rounds of ammunition, a grenade, and counterfeit money seized in La Vega

La Vega, D.R.– Members of the Regional Sub-directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM), in coordination with the Public Ministry, carried out a raid in the Residencial Universitario sector of this city, where they seized a large quantity of ammunition of different calibers, a grenade, counterfeit money, a firearm, and other items of interest for an ongoing investigation.

During the operation, led by prosecutor Cristal Núñez, a residence was raided where Aram Alexander Ramírez Paulino, 19, was found, who is wanted as part of an investigation conducted by the Comprehensive Care Unit for Victims of Gender-Based Violence, Domestic Violence, and Sexual Offenses.

Among the evidence seized are RD$42,000 in counterfeit bills, 1,263 rounds of ammunition of different calibers, a grenade, several firearm magazines, rifle parts and accessories, a Bryco brand pistol without legal documentation, an air rifle, a scale, a cell phone, vape-type electronic devices, and other objects used as evidence within the investigative process.

The National Police reported that both the detainee and the seized evidence were placed under the control of the corresponding authorities for the appropriate legal purposes.
