Samaná. – This Monday, February 23rd, the opening ceremony of the first stage of the Villa Liberación School took place, located in the municipality of Sánchez. The 16 new classrooms will allow the relocation and education of students from the Carmela Shephard Primary School, which is undergoing structural intervention. The act began with a prayer led by the parish priest Dalveris Tavares Martínez, who entrusted the work to divine protection, followed by the welcoming words of the director of the Carmela Sheppard School, Dionicia García Castillo.

In her speech, Provincial Governor Teodora Mullix Geraldino thanked the Dominican government, headed by President Luis Abinader, and the Ministry of Education for their rapid response to this need. She highlighted the challenges overcome to complete this important work and reiterated the commitment to finish its second and final stage. For his part, the director of the 14-05 Educational District, Freddy de Jesús, highlighted the constant concern and the management carried out to guarantee quality educational spaces. He pointed out that, although the delivery of these classrooms alleviates the demand, student enrollment continues to increase, so it is also a priority to conclude the work at Carmela Shephard.
