19-year-old arrested who was on Puerto Rico’s most wanted list

Puerto Rico.- Police officers attached to the Special Arrests Division of the Carolina area, in Puerto Rico, executed an arrest warrant in the afternoon of yesterday at the San Juan Court against a 19-year-old man who was on the list of the most wanted in that jurisdiction.

The arrested person was identified as Yadniell Hernández Rodríguez, against whom an order was in place for alleged violations of articles 249 (A and C) of the Penal Code, related to risk to security or public order by firing a firearm, as well as several articles of the Weapons Law of Puerto Rico. According to the order issued on January 23, 2026, Hernández Rodríguez also faced charges under articles 6.05, for carrying or using a firearm without a license, and 6.14, for firing or pointing a firearm. The total bail imposed amounted to $800,000.

The defendant was presented before Judge Arelyz Ortiz Rivera, of the San Juan Court, who executed the order. The young man did not post bail, so he was booked and admitted to the Penal Institution 705 of Bayamón. The investigation was carried out by agent Suan Matías, under the supervision of Lieutenant Ángel Baerga Montes and Sergeant Edwin Soto Rosa, according to the Police.
