Authorities believe that Nancy Guthrie was possibly abducted from her home during the early hours of February 1, but she is still considered missing because, even if she was kidnapped, her whereabouts are still unknown, whether she is alive or if she remains with her alleged captors. At least 400 local, state, and federal agents have participated in the investigation, in which they have recovered DNA samples from a possible suspect not yet identified.“We feel the love and prayers of our neighbors, our Tucson community and around the country, please do not stop praying and hoping. We must bring her back home,” said the communicator.
