Santo Domingo.– After evaluating the evidence presented by the Public Ministry, a court in Santo Domingo Oeste sentenced a woman to 30 years in prison for planning the death of her partner and hiring the man who murdered him in the Manoguayabo sector on October 2, 2024.
Masiel Encarnación Encarnación violated articles 265, 266, 295, 297, 298, 302 and 304 II, of the Dominican Penal Code, as well as articles 66 and 67 of Law 631-16 for the Control and Regulation of Weapons, Ammunition and Related Materials, to the detriment of Alex Olmedo Soto Arias.
During the trial, the litigating prosecutors Vilma Méndez, Francheska Alcántara and Sugely Valdez, presented a solid body of evidence with documentary, expert and testimonial evidence.
The accusation, based on the investigation by prosecutor Yessica Durán, describes that the defendant and Soto Arias were partners in Distribuidora de Alimentos y Más Olma.
Economic differences had arisen between the two, and the processed person contacted and hired Edison Alexander Cuevas Abreu, currently a fugitive from justice, to commit the murder.

Cuevas Abreu pretended to be a seller of low-cost chicken meat and managed to get Soto Arias to meet him on the Palavé road, where he would deliver a purchase of chicken breasts. Upon arriving at the place, the now-convicted man opened fire on the victim after simulating a discussion.
The defendant must serve the sentence in the Najayo Women’s Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR), in the province of San Cristóbal, by order of the judges Clara Josefina Cruz, Nelcy Ortega and Leonarda Quezada, of the Fourth Collegiate Tribunal of Santo Domingo Oeste.
