San Juan.– United States federal authorities repatriated 32 Dominican migrants who were intercepted after arriving irregularly on the coasts of Puerto Rico, as part of the maritime surveillance operations carried out in the Caribbean region.
According to the authorities, the migrants were detained after being located on a vessel used to attempt to enter Puerto Rican territory illegally. Subsequently, they were taken into custody for the corresponding immigration procedures.
The operation involved the participation of the United States Coast Guard and other security agencies, which maintain constant patrols to detect and prevent clandestine trips between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
After completing the verification and identification process, the 32 Dominican citizens were transferred and handed over to the corresponding authorities in the Dominican Republic.
