The Court of First Instance in the town of Temara, near Rabat, sentenced a controversial Moroccan influencer this Monday to eight months in prison for posting a video on his YouTube channel in which he cooked a stray dog during the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha.
A source from his defense reported that A. A., known by the pseudonym ‘bn nsns’ and around 30 years old, was also sentenced to pay a fine of 20,000 dirhams (about 1,860 euros).
The content creator, who has more than 2.2 million subscribers, posted a video at the end of May in which he cooked a dead dog and consumed its remains, in a context that he linked to the rise in lamb prices for the great Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha (Festival of the Sacrifice).
Following the controversy and the strong social outrage caused by his behavior, he deleted the video and claimed that he had not killed the animal, but rather had found it dead on the road, allegedly after being hit by a vehicle.

Internet users described the images as “repugnant” and “shocking” and called for his imprisonment. Furthermore, numerous users considered it a lack of respect for one of the most important rites of Islam.
It is not the influencer’s first controversy, as he had previously appeared consuming turtle or snake meat, entering dangerous caves, and spending the night in tombs.
