Bogotá.– The president-elect of Colombia, Abelardo de la Espriella, reported that he will request that the inauguration ceremony scheduled for next August 7 be held in Cali, capital of the Valle del Cauca department.
Through a message addressed to the country, the president-elect explained that he asked the House of Representatives to convene the inauguration session in that city, considering that it offers the necessary conditions to carry out a safe, organized event in accordance with the importance of the institutional moment.
“I requested the House of Representatives to convene the August 7th session in the city of Cali,” stated De la Espriella in his communication disseminated through social media.

The inauguration ceremony will mark the formal beginning of his term at the head of the Colombian Government.
