Cali.- The President of Honduras, Nasry Asfura; the Prime Minister of Curaçao, Gilmar Pisas, and the Vice President of Guatemala, Karin Herrera, arrived this Thursday in Cali to attend tomorrow the inauguration of the President-elect of Colombia, Abelardo de la Espriella.
The mayor of Cali, Alejandro Eder, welcomed Nasry Asfura at the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport, while the Prime Minister of Curaçao, Gilmar Pisas, was received by Colombia’s outgoing Foreign Minister, Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio.
“On behalf of the King of the Netherlands, we are here for the inauguration of the new president. Colombia and Curaçao are brothers; it is a pleasure to be here and participate in this great celebration,” stated Pisas, head of government of that Antillean island.
The Vice President of Guatemala also expressed her gratitude for the welcome upon her arrival at the airport: “An affectionate greeting to the Colombian people, to this country so wonderful, so great, rich and diverse.”
International guests
Also arriving in Cali, the capital of the Valle del Cauca department (in the southwest of the country), were the Vice President of El Salvador, Félix Ulloa, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Morocco, Nasser Bourita, to attend the inauguration, which will be held this Friday at the USC Arena of the Santiago de Cali University, in the first change of command held outside of Bogotá in the country’s recent history.

According to Eder, in addition to King Felipe VI of Spain, the inauguration will be attended by the presidents of Argentina, Javier Milei; Ecuador, Daniel Noboa; Paraguay, Santiago Peña; Costa Rica, Laura Fernández; Panama, José Raúl Mulino; the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, and Chile, José Antonio Kast.
