Santiago Rodríguez.– The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, accompanied by the Vice Minister of Construction of the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED), Claudio Espinal, supervised this Saturday the construction progress of the Regional University Center of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) in the province of Santiago Rodríguez.
The work, which shows a 63% progress, will benefit 1,026 students from Santiago Rodríguez, expanding the educational offer in the Northwest Line of the country.
The UASD-Santiago Rodríguez, which stands on 7,335 square meters of construction, includes a four-level teaching building with 24 classrooms and four laboratories, as well as a smart classroom and postgraduate classrooms.

Likewise, it will include an administrative building, library, computer classroom and an auditorium, strengthening the academic offer in the province.
The allocated budget amounts to RD$685 million. Regarding the complementary areas, the project incorporates a mixed court with stands, a patriotic plaza, a treatment plant, a cistern, and various service areas, including a waste collection booth, a warehouse, storage rooms, a loading and unloading area, and a generator booth.
It will also have 126 parking spaces, distributed in 79 for light vehicles, 41 for motorcycles, four for people with disabilities and two for buses, with main pedestrian and vehicular access.
With this infrastructure, UASD seeks to expand the coverage of higher education in the Northwest region and offer modern and adequate spaces for academic training in Santiago Rodríguez. The MIVHED has delivered UASD university regional centers in the provinces of Peravia, Azua, Sánchez Ramírez, Hato Mayor and Neyba-Bahoruco.
