Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader appointed Federico Alberto Cuello Camilo as ambassador on special mission for matters of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and general coordinator of the Dominican Republic’s accession process to that international body.
n” “nThe designation is contained in Decree no. 438-26, issued this Tuesday, with the purpose of strengthening the coordination of the necessary actions for the country to advance in meeting the requirements demanded for its entry into the OECD.
n” “nAs general coordinator, Cuello Camilo will be responsible for coordinating the work between the different State institutions involved in the process, with the aim of promoting the reforms and regulatory adjustments required by the organization.
n” “nThe decree indicates that joining the OECD implies demonstrating compliance with international standards in key areas of public administration, as well as advancing in the implementation of policies aimed at strengthening transparency, governance, and institutional development.

n” “nThe provision recalls that the process of joining the OECD was declared of national interest through Decree no. 408-25, issued on July 25, 2025, with the objective of promoting the initiatives required for the incorporation of the Dominican Republic into that organization.
